Stop, Look, Think And Grow Rich As Can Be!
We recently went on a month plus vacation to Florida and then on to The Cayman Islands. We were there in the Cayman Islands for about a month and it was tremendous! Me, my wife and 18 month old son had a great time swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean (steps from our condo).
We’ve always taken long trips (two weeks or so), but this one really took the cake.
I designated a day or so each week to catch up on emails, partners, customers, etc (4 hour work week on steroids)…
It really drove home for me, the fact that making money online is the greatest business in the entire fricken world. I’m extremely grateful each day for the blessings me and my family have received.
Thank You Baby Jesus!
While I was there, close to the last week, I took my flip camera for a little walk on the beach to record some footage. While walking by myself on the beach by our condo (and taking a break from a teething baby), I decided to point that camera at myself and record some tips on making money from home.
Well lucky you huh? (See… I was thinking about you nubs while sipping rum runners at the rum point beach club)
BTW, if you drink, which I’m sure you do, and you’ve never had a rum runner, well… now… you just have not lived yet. Those things rock… are very dangerous (easy to drink fast), but taste oh-so-great.
Now — with these videos. Let me handicap myself real fast on these… keep in mind, these videos are raw as can be, unedited, and some of these mini-videos are frankly flirting with being completely stupid… I record this little crab who seemed to enjoy the media attention, almost busted my ass on these rocks while recording… got my new shoes wet as can be… had a beach audience (who I’m quite sure they thought I was completely insane). I had no idea at first they were watching me… and not to mention it was hot as hell
…But I do end up looking over and noticing about 5 people watching me, clearly wondering what the hell I am doing… as you’ll see on one of these videos (I chopped them up into a handful of videos because most of the world has ADD now, including me sometimes, and long videos can get boring fast).
Regardless, I offer you a glimpse of The Cayman Islands… with a touch of “How To Make Money Online” tips thrown in!
Now, if you are interested in visiting The Cayman Islands, I do have my own personal review for you. Here it goes:
A Must is swimming with the HUGE sting rays. That’s right, I jumped into weist high water on this sand bar in the middle of the ocean, and swam with a bunch of HUGE sting rays. I even held one in my arms (it was barely submerged) for about 10 minutes. Simply amazing. Absolutely the hightlight of the trip IMO. I FULLY recommend it.
We rented a private charter (more on that later in a different post). It was just me and my family out there with these two native guys, who took us swimming with sting rays and also snorkeling. Very cool indeed. Very cool guys, very helpful and it totally Rocked!
…will do that again someday
Next, I recommend staying on 7 mile beach. We stayed at rum point and will not do that again. The condo was very nice (The Retreat), but the air condition was locked and would not go below 76 degrees (I like it very cold when I sleep and that just did not cut it for me). Big let down. Note to condo owner, it’s fricken hot as hell on the island, let your residents enjoy some air conditioning.
Next, rum point has terrible service. The restaurants were good there (Rum Point is on the north end of the island and 7 mile beach is on the west end). The north end and east end are more isolated, and the west end is more populated, more restaurants, more to do, everything is on the west side.
But yeah, the service was flirting with ridiculous at times. They were even rude at times and just did not have that friendly feel, like the west side did. I mean, there is what they call “island time” which means slow the hell down, but c’mon… waiting 45 minutes for my check is BS.
I even got up and refilled my own tea, not once, not twice, but several times at one place. Get a clue, hire more people, make sure they are nice.
Not so on the west side. The west side rocks. People are very friendly, from all over the world (mostly US though)… and there is plenty to do. The beach on 7 mile is georgeous. Crystal clear water, calm most of the time, nice thick sand, etc.
So, we drove across the island to hang out at 7 mile beach most of the time. The Ritz Carlton and the Westin looked great. We hung out at their beaches, swam at their pools, and had dinner there most of the time. I recommend staying there. There’s a dinner type restaurant across from the westin, and it was very good and cheap.
It only took 2 hours or so to fly there and back, so it’s a great place to vacation. Oh, and you have to drive on the other side of the road — no big deal, I picked it up pretty fast.
All in all, if you want very quiet vacation, and you have lots of patience, stay at rum point. If you want plenty to pick from, lots to do, then 7 mile beach is the way to go. Oh, and the beach is better at 7 mile beach. At rum point, there’s a lot of coral, rocks, sea grass, etc and the snorkeling is so so.
7 mile is sandy, and very nice and luxurious. You’ll dig it.
NEXT, I’m ready to go to Aspen again and go snowboarding. I”m tired of the heat. Bring on the snow already!
Enjoy the Videos!
